On October 5, 2022, the Historic and Design Review Commission (HDRC) approved Alamo Trust, Inc. (ATI) to build an interpretive Mission Gate and Lunette in Alamo Plaza. On October 18, 2022, ATI was granted approval from the Texas Historical Commission for an antiquities permit to conduct archaeological investigations. ATI is working with the General Land Office (GLO) and the City of San Antonio to design this entrance to the Alamo site.
Before construction can begin on this structure, ATI is planning to conduct archaeology work, and will provide updates on this page.
