Help Drive the
Future of the Alamo

Texas is famous for many things, but few embody the Lone Star identity more than the Alamo and Cowboys! And it’s no wonder. Both have a long and rich history that dates back to the earliest days of Texas’ settlement.

The Spanish first brought cattle to Texas in the 1600s and began establishing both missions and ranches throughout the territory. The priests became the first cattle ranchers in Texas and the soldiers were early vaqueros.

In celebration of this rich heritage, the Remember the Alamo Foundation is launching the Alamo Livestock Roundup to enable livestock donations to contribute to the future of the Alamo.

It's As Easy As 1-2-3!

  1. Take your livestock to a sales barn
  2. The sales barn auctions the livestock following the normal process
  3. Request that the proceeds are mailed to Remember the Alamo Foundation at the address below

This year-long campaign, led by actor, singer, songwriter, poet, stage performer, and Texas Legend Red Steagall as Honorary Chair, will enable Texans from across the state to support the Alamo through livestock donations and county auctions, plus two exciting special events.

Inspired by a culture of vaqueros, ranchers, and trailblazers, the Alamo Livestock Roundup  will kick off with Saddle Up! An Evening at the Alamo. Join event chairs, Gloria Steves, Megan and Tres Steves, and Lida and Tres Plummer, as we kick up our heels with live music, entertainment and Texas cuisine on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at the Alamo’s newly renovated Plaza de Valéro.

The campaign culminates with Happy Trails: The Alamo Cattle Drive, a public event on November 22, 2025 celebrating the brand-new Texas Cavaliers Education Center at the Alamo. This new multi-disciplinary learning environment will bring the 300-history of the Alamo to thousands of visiting children each year.

To support the Alamo Livestock Roundup, please complete the online form below or print and mail the form so that we can properly acknowledge your gift. Sponsorship opportunities are available and we welcome your support! You can also make a monetary donation or sponsor online. Those who contribute $25,000 or more will have their ranch brand memorialized on a permanent cattle sculpture at the Alamo.
