Construction to install security bollards throughout Alamo Plaza to increase visitor safety began earlier this year. On Thursday, January 2 and Friday, January 3, Alamo Plaza access will be blocked by fencing where Crockett Street meets Alamo Plaza. A previous version of this article listed December 30 and 31 as the dates for this construction.
Just to the south of the Alamo Church, this area will be fenced off while security bollards are installed. This process will take only two days, pending any unforeseen changes. Alamo Plaza will still be accessible from all other directions and vehicular traffic will not be impacted at all.
As always, the Alamo will operate its normal business hours, and both the Alamo grounds and Alamo Plaza will remain free and open to the public.
