View of Alamo Cenotaph

Tomorrow, Thursday, August 17, a visual inspection of the Alamo Cenotaph is scheduled to take place. We understand the significance of this historical monument and want to assure you that your ability to visit and appreciate the Cenotaph on the Alamo grounds will not be obstructed.

To ensure the safety of all our patrons, a small portion of the grounds surrounding the scissor lift will be temporarily fenced off. This precautionary measure is of the utmost importance to us. The fence will be specifically placed around the scissor lift and its boom reach line, which will likely be positioned on the west side of the Cenotaph.

The fence is designed to be movable. If the scissor lift needs to be repositioned to the east side, the fence will travel with it. Once the visual inspection is completed, the scissor lift will be scheduled for pickup along with the fence. This means that the base of the Cenotaph will not be entirely restricted by the fence, allowing you to continue enjoying its presence.

We anticipate that the visual inspection will only take approximately 4 hours. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this time. The safety of our patrons and the preservation of this cherished monument remain our top priorities.

Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to welcoming you to the Alamo grounds as we work together to ensure the longevity and significance of our historical landmarks.
