Map of Alamo area construction the week of September 29

We extend our heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support as we continue to work on the Alamo Plan.

Updated Information for This Week

This week, we have continued with demolition in the vicinity of the Mission Gate & Lunette and Plaza de Valero area. This strategic step is part of our ongoing efforts to transform this space, preserve the site's historical significance, and level the grade for easier access to the Alamo.

Fence Perimeter Expansion: To ensure the safety of all visitors and patrons, we have slightly expanded the fence perimeter to the northeast, specifically between the Mission Gate & Lunette and the Alamo Church. This expansion is essential to maintain a secure construction zone. (Please see the area marked in red on the map above.)

Impact on Foot Traffic: Due to the increased fence perimeter in the aforementioned area, foot traffic will be temporarily impacted. This measure is taken with public safety in mind, and we appreciate your understanding as we prioritize safety during construction.

Alternative Foot Traffic Access: We want to ensure that you can still access the site conveniently. Foot traffic from the Menger and Rivercenter Mall area can enter through the Alamo Arcade, providing continued access to the site. Please note that this gate is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The Alamo Arcade entrance can be located just north of the Menger Hotel main entrance. (Pictured right)

Safety and Accessibility

The safety of our community, visitors, and team members remains our top priority. To ensure everyone's well-being, we've installed a secure perimeter around the active work area. We sincerely thank you for respecting these safety measures and refraining from entering restricted zones.

Your Valued Input

Your insights and suggestions have proven invaluable to us. We're dedicated to keeping you informed every step of the way, and we welcome your input in refining our communication process. If you know of any additional contacts who should receive our weekly updates, please don't hesitate to let us know. Your support in keeping our community well-informed is greatly appreciated.

Staying Connected

As we move forward with our construction endeavors, we encourage you to reach out to us with any questions or concerns you might have. We're here to address any inquiries and provide you with the information you need. Your enthusiasm and patience inspire us, and we're excited to continue this journey together.

Thank you once again for being part of our community's progress. We look forward to the day when these enhancements will further enrich the Alamo and downtown San Antonio experience for generations to come.

We sincerely appreciate your understanding, cooperation, and support as we work to enhance the Alamo's cultural legacy and create a vibrant community space for everyone to enjoy. Together, we are preserving history and building for the future.
