Jesse G. Thompson, Alamo defender, son of John and Grizell (Ellis) Thompson, was born in Arkansas in 1798. He was married to Patience Carr. He immigrated to Texas and became a resident of Brazoria. Thompson enlisted in the service of Texas on October 23, 1835, and served in Captain Seal's ranger company until January 25, 1836. He later served in the Alamo garrison. Thompson died in the battle of the Alamo on March 6, 1836.
