Join the Alamo for "Revolution Arrives: Austin's Texian Army," a living history event sure to transport visitors back in time through captivating reenactments and historical demonstrations.

"Revolution Arrives" marks the pivotal arrival of troops at the dawn of the Texas Revolution in fall 1835 when Stephen F. Austin, the elected commander of the Texian Army, rallied volunteers and brought them to San Antonio de Béxar with plans to reinstate the Mexican Constitution of 1824. The volunteers included men who would later die at the Battle of the Alamo.

The inaugural event will take place on Saturday, November 2, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. throughout the Alamo site. At 10 a.m., the Alamo's Living Historians will arrive at Alamo Plaza to reenact the moment Austin's troops arrived to San Antonio. Visitors will watch as troops perform ceremonial drills and undergo weapons inspections.

Throughout the day, Living Historians will demonstrate various facets of military life on the frontier ranging from weaponry and combat medicine to cooking and cleaning. A tactical demonstration will take place at 11 a.m., followed by a detailed look at period fashion at 12 p.m.

Don't miss "Revolution Arrives," a free, family-friendly event bringing history to life in the very place it happened!
