Join the Alamo as we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with the launch of bilingual guided tours and history talks on our annual Tejanos at the Alamo Day.

Taking place on Saturday, September 21, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the free, family-friendly event will feature local cultural organizations, descendant groups, living historians and more throughout the Alamo grounds. Standout highlights include:

  • Tejano Family One-Act Play performances at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
  • Musket Firing Demonstrations at 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
  • Seguin High School Ballet Folklorico and Mariachi performance at 11 a.m.
  • Danzavida de San Antonio Dancers at 2 p.m.

Additionally, the Alamo is thrilled to begin offering Remember The Alamo™️ Guided Tours entirely in Spanish, as well as bilingual History Talks on Alamo grounds. Starting September 21, Spanish-language guided tours will take place every Wednesday through Sunday at 10:15 a.m. On Tejanos at the Alamo Day, a special bilingual History Talk will kick off this new initiative at 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

From early San Antonio settlers to 1836 Alamo Defenders and other notable figures such as Juan Seguin and Adina De Zavala, Tejanos at the Alamo will highlight the many important Tejano figures who have made an indelible impact on the Alamo and the larger San Antonio community.

Hispanic Heritage Month, observed from September 15 to October 15 each year in the United States, encompasses the independence anniversaries of seven Latin American countries, including Mexico.
