The Alamo and the Briscoe Western Art Museum are proud to partner to reboot the popular speaker series "Voices of the West: Living Legends," with the inaugural conversation this fall featuring country music singer, songwriter, actor, and nine-time Grammy Award®-winner Ray Benson.

"Voices of the West: Living Legends," in collaboration with Texas Monthly, brings together history makers and storytellers who embody the pioneering spirit and resilience that built the West. The series initially ran at the Briscoe from 2014 through 2017 and showcased iconic voices such as country music singer Robert Earl Keen, civil rights activist Dolores Huerta, and artist Billy Schenck. The relaunched series will be presented biannually, with dates planned through 2026. Event proceeds will benefit both the Alamo and the Briscoe.

The kickoff event featuring Ray Benson will take place Wednesday, September 11, at the Briscoe Western Art Museum's Jack Guenther Pavilion. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with the dynamic conversation beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets may be purchased online, with general admission tickets priced at $25. A VIP Experience offering an open bar, light appetizers, and a meet-and-greet with Ray Benson will take place before the show and costs $100 a person. Discounts are available for Friends of the Alamo members, Briscoe members, military, first responders, and seniors.

Join us for this remarkable series that honors the untamed spirit of the West, inviting everyone to discover, appreciate, and preserve the rich heritage that continues to shape the American landscape.
