The Alamo is proud to announce that Kate Rogers, Executive Director of the Alamo Trust, Inc., was named the 2022 Woman of the Year at the San Antonio Business Journal's Women's Leadership Awards.
Under Kate Roger's leadership, the ongoing effort to restore dignity and reverence to the Alamo is underway. The Church and Long Barrack restoration is progressing as planned. The Alamo has unveiled two new outdoor exhibits, the 18-Pounder Losoya House Exhibit in the southwest corner of Alamo Plaza and the Palisade, designed to help visitors better understand the site's history. The upcoming Alamo Exhibition Hall & Collections Building that will display the Phil Collins Collection in 10,000 square feet of new exhibit space – five times more than the Alamo has today – is scheduled to open in early 2023. Additionally, plans are underway for the Alamo's future Texas Cavaliers Education Center and the site's first Visitor Center and Museum.
"I am deeply honored to have been selected by the San Antonio Business Journal as this year's Woman of the Year," said Kate Rogers, Executive Director for the Alamo Trust, Inc. "I am incredibly humbled to receive this prestigious award on behalf of our team at the Alamo Trust as we continue working with stakeholders across San Antonio on the successful implementation of the Alamo Plan. I deeply appreciate the support of my wonderful family, the Board members of the Alamo Trust and the Remember the Alamo Foundation, and the hard-working Alamo staff members who welcome more than 1.6 million visitors each year. Thank you again to the San Antonio Businesses Journal for creating this program to honor women in our community, and a big congratulations to my fellow honorees."
“As part of the annual Women Leadership Awards, the San Antonio Business Journal is honored to recognize Kate Rogers as Woman of the Year,” said Jimmy Holmes, publisher of the San Antonio Business Journal. “She exemplifies what it means to be a strong and innovative woman business leader and is a real asset for the entire San Antonio region.
