Yesterday evening, San Antonio native and United States Congressman Will Hurd was elected to the Alamo Trust, Inc. board. Congressman Hurd will provide leadership and strategic direction during the implementation of the Alamo Plan.
"As a champion of our National Parks in Congress, it is an incredible honor to be named to the Alamo Trust, Inc. Board,” said Congressman Hurd. “The Alamo is a state and national treasure as well as a symbol to the world that a few can stand up to the many for a just cause."
Alamo Trust Board member and former Texas Secretary of State Esperanza "Hope" Andrade lauded Congressman Hurd’s notable ties to San Antonio and inspirational strategic thinking. "I am excited to have Congressman Hurd join the Alamo Trust. Board of Directors. The Board looks forward to his sage advice and guidance on strategic direction for the Alamo," Andrade said.
Chairman of Alamo Trust Welcome Wilson Jr. joined fellow board member Hope Andrade in welcoming Congressman Hurd by saying, “There is no doubt, Congressman Hurd knows the people of Texas, and their unique perspective on the 'Texas Way' of life. His unique background and knowledge makes him a critical member of this team.”
The Alamo Trust, Inc. is excited to move forward and begin working with Congressman Hurd. We look forward to his guidance and direction as we work diligently to tell the full story of the Battle of the Alamo and Alamo Mission.
