The Alamo warmly welcomes you to celebrate A Homemade Christmas!

The event on Saturday, December 14, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Alamo Gardens will allow visitors to experience the holiday season through the eyes of early settlers as they lived on the Texas frontier in the mid-1800s. This family-friendly event will feature period crafts for all ages, including textiles, woodworking, and clay decorations. Guests can sip homemade hot cocoa while enjoying a live Christmas band and story time.

Adding to the holiday cheer, Cowboy Santa and Mrs. Claus will be greeting children with complementary photo opportunities on Alamo Plaza. This memorable experience will take place in front of the beautiful Alamo Church and the Alamo Christmas Tree, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

A Homemade Christmas is an official Holidays on Houston event, coinciding with the celebration's popular market weekend. The Alamo is a proud partner of Holidays on Houston, presented by the City of San Antonio, Visit San Antonio, and Centro San Antonio. The weeks-long festivities infuse a nostalgic holiday spirit along downtown's most iconic street.

A Homemade Christmas is free and open to the public. Visitors are welcome to stop into the Alamo Gift Shop for holiday shopping. Featured gift ideas include the special collector's edition Christopher Radko Alamo Christmas Tree Ornament, the Official 2024 Alamo Christmas Ornament, and Bella The Alamo Cat's Christmas Ornament. Proceeds from all Gift Shop purchases support the Alamo's ongoing efforts to preserve its historic landmarks while enhancing the visitor experience.
