The Alamo invites you to a unique and exciting ceremony celebrating the first public unveiling of David Crockett's final letter written in Tennessee before his legendary journey to Texas. This momentous event, featuring film director David Zucker, will be held at the Alamo and marks an exciting addition to the Alamo's new Ralston Family Collections Center.

Get ready for an unforgettable ceremony at the Alamo, where we'll dive into the captivating history behind David Crockett's last letter penned in Tennessee! Dr. Kate Rogers, the Executive Director of the Alamo Trust, Inc. will kick things off with some engaging remarks. We're also thrilled to have Mr. David Zucker with us, the proud owner of this priceless piece of history, ready to share his unique insights. And hold onto your hats – we'll be treated to a reading of Crockett's letter by one of his descendants, a moment that's sure to bring the legend's spirit and legacy right into our hearts!
Exclusive Preview and Book Signing:
After the ceremony, guests are invited to an exclusive one-hour sneak preview of the Crockett letter in the Ralston Family Collections Center. The letter will then be on display for the public starting December 8th.
Additionally, David Zucker will be holding a book signing for his new book, "Surely You Can't Be Serious: The True Story of Airplane!" in the Alamo Gift Shop from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mr. Zucker is a noted Hollywood producer, author, and lifelong Alamo enthusiast. He became enamored with the Alamo story as a young boy watching Walt Disney’s “Davy Crockett: King of the Wild Frontier.” That childhood passion paved the way for Mr. Zucker to make a career in the movie business and become a collector of Crockett-related artifacts.
