Parking
The Alamo does not offer parking but downtown San Antonio has a number of public parking lots close by. Please note that the Alamo is not affiliated with any parking lot or structure in San Antonio.

You can also reserve and pay for parking in advance through SP+ Parking or ParkWhiz.
Buses may unload their passengers at the Houston Street gate, however, buses are not permitted to park there.

Stay Cool and Comfortable
Most of the Alamo historic site is outdoors, so be sure to check the weather forecast before your visit, particularly in the summer months when it can be very hot!
We recommend you bring:
• Sunscreen
• Bug spray
• Water
• Comfortable shoes
• Hat and/or umbrella for shade or inclement weather
Be Respectful
The Alamo has a unique set of rules befitting its status as the Shrine of Texas Liberty and hallowed ground. All visitors are respectfully asked to follow these Rules of Reverence so that everyone can enjoy a safe and reverent atmosphere and to ensure the preservation of the Alamo’s historic structures for generations to come.
- Guests, please remove your hats inside the historic Church.
- No open food or drinks are allowed inside of the Church, Long Barrack, or Collections Center.
- No flash photography, including bulbs or LED lights, permitted inside the historic structures.
- No pets (service animals allowed in accordance with the ADA). Dogs are allowed in Plaza de Valero, but must be on a leash.
- No obscene or offensive language on clothing.
- No jogging, bicycles, skateboards, hoverboards, or drones.
- No alcohol, smoking, vaping, or other use of tobacco products.
- No professional photography or videography.
- No unathorized firearms (concealed and open carry allowed with permit only).
- No soliciting, disruptive, or disrespectful behavior.
- No busking. Signs with websites, social media accounts, donation links, self-promotion, or commercialization of any kind are prohibited.
- No wedding ceremonies in Alamo Plaza or inside Alamo Church

Stay Refreshed
Visitors may bring their own food and drinks on site, however, no open containers are allowed inside Alamo Church, Long Barrack, or the Collections Center.
Food and drinks may be purchased in the Alamo Gift Shop, and vending machines available next to the Collections Center by the restrooms.
Alcohol is not permitted.
