Happy Thanksgiving! We are happy to share the latest developments in the ongoing construction at the Alamo. We deeply appreciate your ongoing understanding, patience, and support as we advance with the Alamo Plan.
Vehicular Access Adjustments: Since November 1, 2023, there has been a halt in vehicle traffic in the Alamo District from Commerce St. to Crockett St., and on Crockett St. from Alamo Plz. to Losoya St. This temporary alteration is expected to continue until July 1, 2024. We understand the potential inconvenience this may cause and assure you that this is a crucial step for the safe and efficient progress of the construction.
Pedestrian Route and Fencing Changes: Since November 6th, we have installed a protective fence around the future Texas Cavalier Education Center, enclosing the southern part of the Alamo Gardens and the pathway between the Menger Hotel and the Alamo. However, pedestrian access between the Alamo and the Menger Hotel remains uninterrupted.
Additionally, from November 1, 2023, we have enhanced the fencing around the Mission Gate, Lunette, and the Plaza de Valero area.
For Visitor Safety and Convenience:
- A designated pedestrian lane will run from North to South on Alamo Plaza, and East to West on Crockett St., outlining the western boundaries of the Alamo District.
- To the east of the Alamo District, another pedestrian route will initiate near the Menger Hotel, stretching North to South. This path, close to the Menger Hotel, will lead directly through the Alamo Arcade, ensuring a seamless connection from Alamo Plaza to the River Center Mall vicinity.
