One of the most important parts of the preservation plan is the installation of moisture sensors.
These sensors will measure moisture and its movement through the stone walls of the Alamo Church. They will collect data 24/7 over a 12-15 month period and help archaeologists understand the impacts of moisture on the Alamo.
This kind of comprehensive, scientific study has never occurred at the Alamo before and is long overdue. This data is extremely important to validate approaches for the next step in preserving the historic structures of the Alamo.
