Special Events at the Alamo
Organizations or individuals that would like to utilize areas of the Alamo grounds for ceremonies, events, or private activities are encouraged to apply for venue rental through our Special Events Coordinator: firstname.lastname@example.org
The Alamo grounds includes all property within the walled Alamo complex and the open entryway leading towards the Alamo Church. Alamo Complex Management reserves the right to approve or deny any space rental application based on, but not limited to, the programmatic intent of the renter and their event.
The Alamo Church is a symbol of the City of San Antonio and a world-renowned icon of Texan pride. It is also the most critical artifact preserved on the Alamo grounds that helps tell this remarkable story. The Alamo Church is now in need of significant repair. The work required to preserve this historical landmark is beginning immediately and will continue for several years. This work is part of the Master Plan to redevelop the Alamo complex and the Alamo experience in downtown San Antonio. Due to this necessary repair, the interior of the Alamo Church is no longer available for private ceremony and event rentals. Events held in front of the Alamo Church during normal business hours will be subject to guidelines to preserve our everyday visitor experience.
Alamo Complex Management only lights the Church facade with neutral white light to illuminate this powerful symbol and artifact. We are unable to entertain requests for lighting the Alamo Church with colored gels to honor other causes.Event and/or Complex operating times are subject to adjustment by Alamo Complex Management in its sole discretion on a case by case basis.
Alamo Complex Management encourages community groups that wish to honor the defenders of the Alamo and the Alamo’s rich historical narrative, to support the on-going preservation and operational efforts by becoming an organizational partner. Front of Church
The iconic and world renowned façade of the Alamo Church serves as a picture-perfect backdrop for memorable occasions, commemorations, and military ceremonies. Please note that events held in this space during normal business hours will be subject to guidelines to preserve our everyday visitor experience.

Originally one of San Antonio’s first firehouses, Alamo Hall is an ideal location for receptions and dinner functions. The newly-renovated building features a spacious kitchen and French doors that open up to a beautiful limestone patio. A perfect indoor/outdoor combination, the space is well suited for optional out-of-doors entertainment, spirits, and dining.
Alamo Hall Patio
Alamo Hall Patio is a beautiful, lush outdoor area, perfect for dining and receptions as well as military ceremonies. It can be combined with Alamo Hall.
The South Gardens feature sprawling lawns and tall Texas trees, great for large groups and outdoor activities. With plenty of room, this spacious Alamo area is wonderful for “Texas-sized receptions, living history demonstrations, and military ceremonies.
Cavalry Courtyard is an outdoor area shaded by tall Oaks and Texas Pecan trees. An excellent setting for military ceremonies, the courtyard features an elevated stone platform backed by the iconic Six flags of Texas as well as numerous canon including the famous 18-pounder used during the historic 1836 Battle of the Alamo.
