Alamo Educator Workshop

The Confluence of Art and History: San Saba to San Antonio de Valero

This collaborative educator workshop links the San Antonio Museum of Art’s special Tricentennial exhibition, SA 1718: Art from Vice-regal Mexico with a visit to the Alamo for a discussion of its history and the changes through time.  Examine the past and present of Texas through art making, history and other hands-on lesson plans.  Investigate the concept of Other and the blending of cultures that helped to shape San Antonio culture.

Registration includes a river boat ride from the Museum to the Alamo and trolley ride from the Alamo to the Museum.  Bring a brown bag lunch to enjoy on the river boat.

Partnership Educator Workshop: San Antonio Museum of Art and The Alamo.  Lunch will not be provided. Please bring your own to eat on the riverboat ride to the Alamo.  If you are a member of the San Antonio Museum of Art, use code MUSEUM for a $10 discount on your registration. Please bring your membership card to show when you arrive at the Museum. $30 for Museum members, $40 for non-members.
