The Alamo Education Department invites educators to join us for a free workshop about strong women who emerged as the steely backbone of the new Republic of Texas.  Often overlooked because of their roles as wives and mothers, Texas women faced the same danger and hardship as did their husbands, brothers, and sons.  From pioneers to sculptors; cattle baronesses to activisits - these women have earned their place in history.  We are excited to share the stories of these amazing women: Cynthia Ann Parker, Mary Mary Maverick, Adina De Zavala, and many more.
