Alamo de Parras
Alamo de Parras, or ADP to its fans, began as a site that explored the early days of the Spanish military at the Alamo but expanded into a significant source for information on the battle. The site is highly recommended to both casual and serious students of the Alamo.

Brazoria County Historical Museum
The Brazoria County Historical Museum is located in Angleton, Texas, in the heart of Stephen F. Austin’s Colony. Their site contains an on-line exhibit on the history of Austin’s Colony.

Daughters of the Republic of Texas
The Daughters of the Republic of Texas were formed in 1891 with the goal of perpetuating the memory and spirit of the men and women who achieved and maintained the independence of Texas. This site lists DRT information and lists the properties curated by the organization.

Daughters of the Republic of Texas Library
Located on the grounds of the Alamo, the Daughters of the Republic of Texas Library is a research facility. Their site contains information about the library's holding but also has a chronology and other useful information. The DRTL maintains vertical files on the Alamo Defenders.

The Daughters of the Lone Star Republic was organized in 1891 as a way of perpetuating forever the memory of the Texas pioneer families and soldiers of the Republic of Texas by forming an association of their descendants.

George Nelson's Alamo Pictures 
Artist and historian George Nelson has been documenting Texas history through art and sculpture for the past twenty years. This link is to paintings by Nelson from his book entitled The Alamo: An Illustrated History.

Goliad State Historical Park
The site of the execution of more than 300 Texan and American volunteers, the name Goliad is forever linked to the Texas Revolution. Their web site gives a brief historical overview of this old Spanish fort in addition to information to prospective visitors.

Republic of Texas Museum
The Republic of Texas Museum was created by the Daughters of the Republic of Texas Inc. shortly after the organization was founded in 1891. It’s mission is to preserve the heritage of the Republic of Texas historic period and to educate the public about the history and culture of that time. The collection includes approximately 3000 artifacts as well as a photographic collection and archives.

Sam Houston Memorial Museum
Located in Huntsville, Texas, the Sam Houston Memorial Museum is dedicated to the life & times of General Sam Houston. Houston former Governor of Tennessee, victor over Santa Anna in the Texas War of Independence, first President of the Republic of Texas, Senator from the State of Texas and Governor of the State of Texas.

San Jacinto Monument Museum
On April 21, 1836, the Texan Army commanded by General Sam Houston reversed the defeats at the Alamo and Goliad. Today the "Plains of San Jacinto" is part of a Texas State Historical Park.

Sons of DeWitt Colony
Next to Austin’s Colony, Green DeWitt’s Colony was the most successful of those established by Anglo empresarios. Managed by Wallace L. McKeehan, the Sons of DeWitt Colony is a wealth of information on early Texas history. One of the best Texas history sites on the web!

Sons of the Republic of Texas
The Sons of the Republic of Texas are men whose ancestors lived in Texas from March 2, 1836 to February 19, 1846. The Sons of the Republic of Texas was organized as a way for men to honor their Texas heritage. Visit their web site to learn more about this organization and its mission to promote Texas history.

Located at Washington-on-the-Brazos, the Star of the Republic Museum interprets the history of the Republic of Texas and its influences.

Texas Association of Museums
The Texas Association of Museums is a statewide organization that promotes professional standards among Texas museums. TAM headquarters maintains an e-mail list of it members in case you want to contact someone in your area.

The Texas Constitutions Digitization Project
Presented by the Tarlton Law Library, The University of Texas at Austin, The Texas Constitutions Digitization Project contains the text of all the constitutions which have governed Texas. It includes the Mexican Federal Constitution of 1824, the Constitution of Coahuila y Tejas, the Constitution for the State of Texas proposed by the colonists in 1833 as well as the constitutions of the Republic of Texas and the State. Contains a search engine.

Texas Historical Commission
The mission of the Texas Historical Commission is to protect and preserve the state’s historic and prehistoric resources for the use, education, enjoyment and economic benefit of present and future generations. Its web site describes its many programs.

Texas State Historical Association
Established on March 2, 1897, the Texas State Historical Association is the oldest society of professional and lay historians in the state. Membership in TSHA is open to anyone interested in Texas history. Members receive the Southwestern Historical Quarterly. TSHA also maintains an on-line version of the award wining New Handbook of Texas, available to all researchers with just the click of a mouse.

Washington-on-the-Brazos State Historical Park
Washington-on-the-Brazos, the birth place of the Republic of Texas, is now a Texas State Park. Their web site gives a brief historical overview in additions to information for prospective visitors.
